A painter in ballerina dances with life. He would have been able to grow among the ballet students and to become a principal dancer. But the generous nature of the Langres Area decided on it otherwise. Jean‐Yves Texier was allowed to be‐ witch by the sensations which the region gets him. He preferred to express his love for life by the carnal contact with the painting. Deep, burning, energetic, strong, wild became the words of his art and an art of living in everyday life. This enthusiastic bearded man samples every moment of his life. Moments of happiness which he draws at these peo‐ ple of the country, in the heart of this green campaign haut ‐ marnaise. This titi of Paris was not made for the rigour and the academicism of the world of the Opera which tightened his arms. His artistic drive was very too strong. In his painting, he found a common ground between the dance and the plastic arts. Dance, passion, sensualism … Happiness is in an instant the feeling of things. So, the first purpose of Jean‐Yves Texier is to paint the shape carried by the drive. That he dances on the painting with a brush, a paintbrush, the fingers … That’s important! The main part is to sketch forms in movement, passion, force. His drives splash the cloth. The artist prints the movement, strengthening the passing aspect. Be‐ cause when he is interested in the shape, it is not to restore it with exactness in its aesthetic dimension, but for its abstract value. Every being is represented in movement. A movement symbolizing life. This freedom of the gesture concerning the cloth translates the state of plenitude which brings him life. His clothes are tinged with a very strong symbolism which gets our interiority, a centre, even a transcendence. Jean‐Yves Texier never crosses indifferently next to shape. He works on the spirit of dance, on passion, and sensualism. In everyday life, he follows exactly by the glance every curvature, every continuation, every contraction ‐ in brief, seizes every change of the shape. The trilogy HOMME‐CHEVAL‐TAUREAU corresponds to these notions of spiral (of the DNA in the muscles of the heart) and of energies to which the artist is attached. At first, they were the burning horses, the mane in the wind, galloping with fury. Then bulls at the same moment are massive and strong, powerful and dark.
